Loudoun Castle Reward Trip

Tomorrow we are going to Loudoun Castle theme park - we are looking forward to it. Conor hopes that it stays cloudy but not too warm as he does not want to be too hot. Robert's favourite ride last year was the Black pearl, which hangs you upside down. James liked the dodgems best. Here are some photos from a previous visit.

Horse-riding

The girls' group had a very exciting day yesterday - the start of their 6 week block of horse-riding outings to a local riding-school. I will be riding Francie, who is tall and has a black coat. Catriona will be riding Gerry, who is brown and has a grey moustache!

Mock Election in Unit

Tomorrow we are having a mock election in the unit - we have 5 candidates standing and the hustings will take place in the afternoon. Conor is standing for the conservative party, Austin for SNP - there is lots of debate flying about and votes will be cast on Monday.

College Taster Courses

Yesterday Graeme and I went to college for Cake Decorating. We enjoyed it, it was fun. We made coconut buns but Graeme put chocolate chips in his because he doesn't like coconut. There were 8 of us in the kitchen.

CDU Corporation AGM

At the recent AGM (Annual General Meeting) , it was decided to change the name of the company from CDU Corporation to AU Enterprises. Election of a new committee gave us lots of fresh enthusiasm and energy to take us forward into new ventures.
The first committee meeting has already been held and organisation of the current pool tournament is well under way. It has also been decided to hold a raffle to raise funds to put toward an Activity Week away for a number of lucky pupils!
There is also a cartoon competition being held to create a good cartoon worth putting on to plain T-shirts to sell! Watch this space!

CDU Corporation

Govan AU has a pupil-run company called the CDU Corporation. The new committee is elected each year, and that time is now upon us. Pupils are busy making posters and making up persuasive speeches to gain election.

The CDU Corporation hosts an annual Pool Tournament, an event which is due to begin very soon. John will be coming round today to gather names of those interested in taking part.
